Abstract

For future endoscopic applications, a concept using a chain of electromagnetic tilting actuators is introduced. The dynamic behavior of these actuators is influenced by several electrical, magnetic and mechanical parameters. The modelling of these effects is quite important for the actuators' torque control. This paper has its focus on the precise calculation of eddy current effects in 3D finite element models. For this purpose, additive eddy current layers are integrated, and their influence on calculation is analyzed. Subsequent measurements shall validate the model quality.
