Abstract
The use of generated data within the entire process chain is one key element to improve current processes regarding quality and time. Therefore, it is crucial to understand the current processes and to have modelling techniques that allow for a detailed description of the data flow. To meet the demands to model the data flows within a complex workshop manufacturing system, a new modelling technique was developed and field-tested by analyzing the status quo at a manufacturing company. The modelling of the upcoming data-flows within the process chain allows for an explicit system analysis to identify optimization potentials to improve the current processes.
