Abstract
Today, the impacts of change drivers on a factory cannot be assessed systematically. Therefore, the Institute for Production Systems and Logistics developed a description model for factory structures and the relationships inherent in the system. This enables an analysis of the impact on the factory structure which allows a prediction of the necessity of restructuring. The paper describes the application of the description model.
