The research network BIOFABRICATION for NIFE focuses on the global concept of personalized medicine to grow organic and biofunctionalized implants for each patient individually. These developments allow to satisfy the demand for organic implants in the future with heavily reduced risks of rejection.

To achieve this goal, different groups of the fields medicine, chemistry, biology and electronics work togoether in the same research network. In addition to the scientific work, programs to educate young students and scientists are ongoing in parallel. A group of the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media takes care of the public understanding of science and the public relations.
