The symposium within the research field 'DARA. Design and Research in Architecture and Landscape' addressed specific practices of design research in architecture and landscape architecture in terms of questions, approaches and ways of presentation. Which questions and approaches promote the processing of design-related research projects? Which design-related and which scientific ways of thinking and acting come to the fore? Opening lectures by the peers Prof. Dr. Christoph Grafe, Prof. Dr. Lara Schrijver, Prof. Christiane Soerensen and Prof. Dr. Margitta Buchert as well as Prof. Katja Benfer, Prof. Michael Schumacher and Prof. Hilde Léon contributed to bundle previous findings, to point out fundamental levels of understanding of research practices as well as to outline areas of possibility. Fundamental contents of the symposium were further developed in a more pragmatic way in a workshop. Afterwards, the 6th International Peer Review Doctoral Colloquium entitled 'Practices' took place under the direction of Prof. Dr. Margitta Buchert.
