Abstract

The utility model discloses an inverter for feeding electric power of a DC power supply to an AC voltage network. A control device of a switch of an inverter bridge converts electric power obtained from the AC voltage network into heat in a time interval of a network cycle of the AC voltage network when the electric power is obtained from the AC voltage network by the inverter in the case of feeding reactive power. The control device operates a first switch of the inverter bridge in a linear operating mode. The linear operating mode can be selected relying on the current through the first switch, so that a power flow of the inverter bridge toward the DC power supply can be blocked.
