Abstract

The vortex dynamics and vortex-vortex interactions in toroidally trapped Bose-Einstein condensates was investigated. An analytical calculation based on the image method and conformal mapping was used to explain the numerically calculated vortex trajectories. The case of harmonic transversal confinement was examined and the numerical results were found to be in agreement with the analytical ones.
