Abstract

For successful digitalization in production, the IT infrastructure, e. g., for the easy integration of devices and control of data flows, is of central importance. However, previous solutions are mostly based on proprietary protocols and offer few configuration options, especially with regard to data sovereignty. Based on industrial standards, such as Asset Administration Shells, the IIP-Ecosphere project is therefore developing an open-source codebase for the holistic implementation of digitization projects in production.
