Abstract

The manufacturing of complex high-value parts of low batch size is, due to the individual handling of damages, a very special type of manufacturing with an increased level of complexity. Besides improvements in manufacturing technology, particularly the implementation of an integrated data management results in a high potential to optimize process chains with respect to cycle time and costs. In this article besides the system-concept itself the potentials which can be used and quantified within the area of part regeneration are presented as well as the requirements for a system resulting from the characteristic of the part regeneration.
