Abstract

The VDEh working group "Fluid Mechanics and Flow Simulation", founded in 2007, is associated with the Committee on Metallurgical Fundamentals and consists of 30 members. The working group is concerned with the application of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) in the field of metallurgical process engineering. The methods used are analyzed, current flow related problems in steelworks are discussed, and the exchange of information between the group members is encouraged. In the following some of the topics the group recently worked on are presented.
