Abstract

Reuters reveal a lobbying juggernaut conspired by Amazon.com Inc. to undermine the U. S. privacy legislation. Lawfulness, fairness and transparency, integrity and confidentiality, storage limitation, and data minimisation are the key principles guiding the processing of personal data in Europe (Art. 5(1) lit. a–f GDPR). Transparency and provision of information to users (Art. 13), robustness, accuracy and cybersecurity (Art. 15) are written down into the proposed Artificial Intelligence Act (Regulation laying down harmonized rules on Artificial Intelligence (Artificial Intelligence Act) and amending Certain Union Legislative Acts (COM/2021/206/final).
