Abstract
In automotive gearboxes the synchromesh drag torque contributes to the total losses. In this paper parameters which are expected to Influence the synchromesh drag torque are specified by analysis of the positioning and the operating conditions. Then five synchromesh systems are investigated regarding the applicability of a shear-stress approach.
