Abstract
The chapter reviews the synthesis and some reactions of transition metal complexes of cross conjugated π systems. This includes trimethylenemethane complexes, fulvene complexes, fulvalene complexes, azulene complexes, pentalene and acepentalene complexes and some examples of other complexes of cross conjugated π systems. While most of the complexes are mononuclear, fulvalene complexes are usually dinuclear complexes with the possibility of metal-metal bonds. Classes, which have already been reviewed, are restricted to representative examples.
