Abstract
The transverse flux induction heating (TFH) of non-ferrous and precious metal strips is discussed. Induction heating provides heat source generation inside the workpiece itself which offers optimization of energy savings, high productivity, process flexibility and minimum floor space requirement. The reactive power is also lower in the case of TFH with consequent lower cost of capacitor bank and power supply.
