Abstract

This study has undertaken to develop and experimentally carry out a pressure superimposed hollow forward extrusion process for friction-welded hybrid semi-finished products of steel and aluminium was. The counter pressure was varied to investigate the influence on strength and damage behaviour of the bond. This helped to improve the bond strengths and eliminate near-surface delamination due to pressure superposition.
