Abstract
The synthesis of substituted arene molybdenum complexes via arene exchange was investigated. All manipulations with Mo complexes were carried out under an atmosphere of purified nitrogen using standard inert gas/vacuum double manifold and Schlenk techniques. The reaction time was shortened by reacting Mo(CO) 6 in benzene in the presence of pyridine in an autoclave. The synthesis of the molybdenum complexes via arene exchange reaction results in higher yields, shorter reaction times, and easy workup.
