Abstract

The thermal reaction of C60 with (η5-bicyclo[3.2.0]hepta-1,3-dienyl)(η4-tetraphenylcyclobutadiene)cobalt(I) produced the Diels-Alder adducts. The X-ray structural analysis of the 1:1 adduct revealed a novel molecular and crystal structure. An interesting redox behavior of the 1:1 adduct is described.
