Abstract

The first preparation of a 1,1′-dialkynylferrocene containing two thioacetyl units as alligator clips for the application as molecular wires by a Stille coupling is described. A building block principle for the synthesis of longer and more complicated molecular wires containing more than one ferrocene unit is presented.
