Abstract
Through the rare [4 + 1] construction strategy, the cyclopentanols 1 are accessible by a sequence of epoxide ring opening, silyl migration, and tosylate substitution. Optically active and annelated cyclopentanols can also be prepared by this route. (Figure Presented.)
