N2 - In this contribution we will present some application cases for atom interferometry as an inertial sensor for navigation purposes. While there are more complex attempts for a six-degrees of freedom setup, which have not yet been realized and tested in a navigation filter framework, a simple setup of two counterpropagating interferometers is already sufficient for specific navigation purposes like estimating the 2D-position and orientation of a non-holonomic vehicle on a plane, like it is the case with driverless transportation vehicles. By using error models based on real data and our navigation simulation framework, we point out some concrete examples and use-cases of the proposed setup in navigation.
