Abstract
As part of the Collaborative Research Centre 653 "gentelligent components in their lifecycle", the Institute of Forming Technology and Machines of the Leibniz University Hannover is currently developing a hot forging die with sensory capabilities. An integrated temperature channel allows the tool to control cyclically introduced process heat and also provides improved part accuracy as well as a longer lifetime. The design of these channels will be steadily improved by using real process data.
