Abstract

The development of automated working on the free form surface of low wear ceramic implants is promoted under medical and technical points of view aiming an optimized lifetime. The technologies of five-Axis grinding and polishing will enable the fabrication of variegated kinds of prostheses for medical technology. The known superiority of ceramic hip joint implants will be made accessible for patients, who are in need of complex shaped prostheses, like knee joint replacements.
