Abstract

The design of forging process chains requires to consider various processes and parameters for the production of both the workpiece and the forging die. In this article, a method for the optimization of the process chain by means of a genetic algorithm is presented with a view to costs, time and quality. The method is implemented into a software tool and used in an application scenario.
