Abstract
In this contribution a new method for drying the paper insulation of power transformers during service is introduced. The drying system is cost efficient, easy to adapt on every liquid/paper insulated high voltage apparatus, does not affect either the dissolved nor the headspace gas analysis and does not require the apparatus to be taken out of service. The contribution reports about the principle of operation, some measurements on a transformer model and some reflections about a practical realization of the system.
