Abstract

The implementation of effective soil protection strategies depends on the availability of data on soil stress and maximum soil stress capacity. As the close spacing of data points is limited by the amount of work necessary, soil characteristics are increasingly made use of as indicators for the status of nutrients and pollutants of soil systems. Grain size, pH, and the percentage of organic matter are of major importance in this context. Accordingly, these data from the A-horizons of 44 Schleswig-Holstein forest sites were classified by multivariate group algorithms. -from English summary
