Abstract

We have measured the magnetoresistance of a trench-like modulated two-dimensional electron gas in a parallel magnetic field in comparison with an unstructured reference sample. We observe a step-like increase in the magnetoresistance of the trench sample that is not present in the reference. We attribute this to different numbers of edge channels being transported through the trench structure.
