Abstract
All existing lot-sizing methods follow the same basic approach that lead to similar results. Moreover, they have a common weakness: They are all limited in their ability to consider logistical correlations. This in turn commonly leads to dimensioning lots too largely and hides excessive piece-costs. This paper presents an approach considering logistical aspects of lot sizing and how to apply these aspects in industrial production areas.
