Abstract
This article presents a concept with regard to questions that arise from the requirements of the development of mechatronic systems. The focus is on a method for the development of mechatronic systems developed in a joint research project by Volkswagen and the Virtual Vehicle, based on an agile working method and an automation of the continuous integration with suitable development tools. It consists of well-known methods and tools for continuous integration for software development, which was transferred to the model development. This approach enables a transfer of the agile development of software to the development of mechatronic systems. The advantages of this approach are shown by a first application.
