Abstract

In this paper we present methods for the integration of sensor systems, based on passive RFID technology, in full-cushion tires for industrial trucks. On the one hand, the design of the sensor transponder must avoid any negative influence on the mechanical stability of the tire and on the other hand, the performance and stability of the transponder must be ensured. Besides presenting a transponder design with a flexible antenna, we show possible applications for monitoring the tire and vehicle condition.
