Abstract
This contribution describes concepts for an efficient setup of simulation testbeds for connected electrical control units. One big challenge arising thereby is having suitable plant models of underlying physical components. The FMI Standard serves to exchange models efficiently. Therefore, this contribution presents a methodology that automatically analyses the behavior of models according to the FMI Standard [1] in different operating ranges. Furthermore, it evaluates their suitability for various simulation environments concerning step sizes and real time capability. Application examples are a mass-spring-damper system and a numerically sophisticated SiL model which is coupled with a HiL test bench. The SiL-model is calculated with a variable step solver on separate hardware (PC).
