Abstract
About 10 years ago the disturbance scenario between a powerline-communication system (PLC) and a short wave receiving station has been presented [1, 2]. This showed a significant influence on the signal to noise ratio. In the mean-time the channel model, coding and data transmission rate of broadband PLC systems have been considerably improved. Furthermore the national and international standardization has been changed. Based on these developments this paper provides an update for the influence of state-of-the-art broadband inhouse PLC on the short-wave reception from EMC point-of-view and given physics [3]. Measurements in two different electromagnetic environments will be presented. This is complemented by an overview of currently used standards and typical applications.
