Abstract
The use of a TEM-cell anechoic-chamber hybrid, the GTEM cell for EMI testing is discussed. The hybrid chamber may be used for both susceptibility and radiated emission testing and is well suited for time domain as well as continuous wave (CW) measurements. The chamber has extremely broadband characteristics, with a usable frequency range from DC to GHz (approximately 18 GHz). The TEM mode is used to simulate an incident plane wave for susceptibility testing. Radiated emission data obtained in the hybrid chamber may be used to simulate open area test sites (OATS) or free space measurements. Applications will be stressed and a variety of representative data will be shown.
