Abstract
Mesoporous Si-MCM-41 has been functionalized with sulfonic acid groups (-SO3H). The modified powders were characterized by X-ray diffraction, adsorption measurements and infrared spectroscopy and studied upon proton conductivity by impedance spectroscopy. The powders exhibit high proton conductivities up to 103 S cm1, and composite membranes with polysiloxanes and functionalized powders show good water management properties.
