Abstract

Electrical heating and melting installations are of great use in metal-processing industry, and it stops many new technologies because they can be realized under optimal conditions only. Local parametrical handmade improvement of electrothermal systems done by advanced numerical modelling cannot be accepted as an optimization. Different optimization methods belonging to both deterministic and stochastic groups have been tested to search the optimum designs. The algorithms are tuned by several parameters such as population size, and probabilities for applying genetic operators.
