Abstract

n investigation carried our by RWE Power AG, Phoenix CBS GmbH and the Institute for Transport- and Aucoma tion Technology of the University oí Hannover (HA) demonstrated a correlation between resistances to motion íound in field measurements and indentation rolling resistances measured on a test rig. Based on the gained knowledge cover plate compounds have been developed that show a lurchei improved indentation rolling resistance compared to current state-of-the-art. It could be shown that the indentation rolling resistance measured in the test rig could be translated to real-life conveyors in the field if the acting normal forces between idlers and conveyor belt were taken into consideration.
