Abstract
The paper focuses on simulating the transfer function of power transformer winding sections based on design information. The calculation method has been investigated and discussed. The simulation of windings through multi conductor transmission line method has been performed for an actual distribution transformer in the laboratory using the design information. With this information the transfer function of the transformer winding sections has been calculated. Additionally some measurements on the distribution transformer have been done in three test platforms with different measurement devices in order to compare the methods for evaluating the transfer function of this transformer. The simulated transfer function has been adapted by comparison between the simulation and measurement results. As a result of the comparison, a deviation factor could be defined and the most sensitive parameters of the simulation methods could be identified. The difference between simulation and measurement leads to knowledge about the required measurements on a transformer as basis for the simulation of the transfer function of the transformer winding sections.
