Abstract

We discuss trapping of radiation by attractive, solitary-wave induced potential wells. Trapped states of low intensity are determined by a Schrödinger-type eigenproblem. Phase-matching resonances couple trapped states to the continuum, generating radiation with Lorentzian lineshape.
