Abstract

The number of cyclopentadienylmetal complexes bearing pendant P, As and S ligands have increased in the past few years, mainly due to a growing variety of the cyclopentadienylmetal ligands bearing pendant P ligands and concentrated at only few metals. Clearly, cyclopentadienyl bearing pendant P, As and S ligands offer more possibilities for variation than simple cyclopentadienylmetal ligands. Given the comparatively large number of metals capable of forming cyclopentadienylmetal complexes, syntheses of many new complexes of these is very likely. There has also been an increase in attempts to use them in chemical reactions, which are not analogues of known cyclopentadienyl complex chemistry.
