Abstract

Two dinuclear iron complexes, bridged via cyano groups, containing units of [Fe(phen)2(CN)2]n (n=0 or +1) and a chelating ligand, the nitrilotriacetic acid anion, have been synthesised. These compounds, containing iron atoms in different and/or the same oxidation states [Fe(II)/Fe(III) (1); Fe(III)/Fe(III) (2)] were characterised by elemental analyses, IR and UV spectra, TGA and DSC thermograms. Mössbauer spectra and magnetic susceptibility of complex 1 were investigated and discussed.
