Abstract

The formation of a superfluid of polar molecules was analyzed. As such, the loading of a Bose Einstein condensate (BEC) of 87Rb and 41K atomic species into an optical lattice was considered. It was found that the modification of the lattice potential produces the dynamical transition into a Mott-insulator (MI) phase with only one atom of each species per site. By reducing the lattice potential and modifying the transverse confinement, such MI evolves into a molecular superfluid within a feasible time scale.
