Abstract
The bonding configuration and the structure of the K-adsorption and the K+O coadsorption system on a Rh(110) surface were studied by employing the core level photoelectron spectroscopy and LEED. Data obtained suggest a correlation between the K-promoted transformation of the Rh(110) surface into a highly segmented (mX2) reconstructed phase and formation of an oxidelike phase.
