Abstract
Quasi Two-Level PWM Operation of the Modular Multilevel Converter reduces the amount of energy to be stored in the modules significantly. While keeping many of the advantages of modular multilevel topologies (modularity, scalability, small voltage steps and redundancy), the multilevel operation of course is lost. This paper presents a possible control for a three-phase inverter. The control is verified by simulation.
