Abstract

Competitiveness of manufacturing companies is significantly determined by achieved logistics performance as well as involved logistics costs. The positioning of the order penetration point, which is a substantial task in the concept planning, represents the opportunity to influence logistics performance and logistics costs of the operation of manufacturing companies. This article presents logistic models for a quantitative assessment of factory structure variants concerning logistics cost and logistics performance. The application of selected logistic models is presented by reference of an industrial case study.
