Abstract
The analysis of two innovative coplanar waveguide fed planar antennas applying a simulation tool based on the Finite Difference Time Domain method (FDTD) (non-uniform discretisation grid), is presented in this paper. A planar slot and inverted F antenna are designed, realised and tested, also examining the influence of the coaxial connector required for the measurements. These antennas are especially suited for mobile communication applications and identification systems due to their small sizes and rather omni-directional radiation pattern.
