Abstract

This work shows the significant reduction of resonance effects comparing closed TEM-waveguides (GTEM cell) and open TEM-waveguide structures (GTEM cell without side walls). For open TEM-waveguide structures it is demonstrated that-concerning the characteristics of the generated electromagnetic field- A simplification of the planar conductors by an adequate wire structure is possible. The method of Transmission-Line Super Theory is applied to a simple 1-wire representation of the problem. The specific transmission line parameters, the current distribution on the wire, and the resulting magnetic field are calculated and compared to MoM and MLFMM simulations.
