Abstract

This paper presents the application of an analytical method for the computation of the transfer functions of transformers. The method used shows in contrast to other procedures no principal limits in the considered frequency range and calculates iteratively both the structure of the transfer function as well as the system parameters. For this reason, the transfer function of any transformer can be computed automatically, thus enabling the presented method to be the base for a diagnosis of the operating behaviour of the devices. The suitability of the applied method is shown by a comparison of measured frequency responses and calculated transfer functions of a distribution transformer as well as of a power transformer.
