Abstract
TEM-cells can be used for EMC-measurements or field sensor calibration. For a practical application, the TEM-cell's resonance behavior over a broad range of frequencies is essential. This paper presents two methods to compute the resonance frequencies of an ideal (perfect electrical conductor) coaxial TEM-cell based on the generalized telegraphist equations. We compare our numerical results with commercially available software and measurements on a coaxial TEM-cell with similar geometric dimensions.
