Abstract

In this chapter a new kind of flexible micro fringe projection technique for topography and geometry determination of filigree side elements in internal carrier structures is introduced. The applied method is based on a combination of flexible endoscopy (fibres copy) and common fringe projection, which adds up the advantages of a freely positionable sensor head of a fiberscope with the possibility of fast, high resolution areal measurements. Special focus is laid on an increased depth of focus that can be generated by new light sources and a beam path optimized by simulation starting from the source to the image generation through image fibres and gradient index optics to a specimen and from there finishing in a camera for the acquisition of the geometry data. Tailored algorithms for structured light patterns and generation as well as fitted computations of the camera images will be presented that deal with the new challenges of decreased resolution that are caused by the image fibres. For a better understanding of the individual difficulties some applications are given that show where the certain described techniques improve the results of endoscopic measurements.
